Overview

We are currently looking for a QA Analyst - Insurance in our Burlington, Ontario (CDN) office. This position reports directly to the Development Manager.

Responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to:

  • Be responsible for overall quality of project deliverables
  • Create and execute test plans and test cases
  • Provide metrics to project team, including Project Manager and Developers
  • Mentor and train other team members in overall QA best practices
  • Collaborate with developers to deliver a high-quality product
  • Actively seek the identification of project issues and problems; manage and escalate as appropriate
  • Provide trouble-shooting and problem-solving as needed

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create test plans and test cases based on functional specifications
  • Execute test cases, leveraging automated tools where applicable
  • Document and report on quality metrics for all deliverables in defect tracking tool
  • Certify quality level of applications from functional and regression testing perspective
  • Work with internal and external teams to ensure delivery of high-quality deliverables
  • Interact with external clients in a professional manner
  • Successfully engage on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Contribute to development of project KPIs, ongoing tuning of PMO processes, contributing to a culture where quality is considered in our day-to-day activities

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a software quality assurance analyst, ideally in a financial services environment
  • Familiar with test automation
  • Worked under both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • Experience in other facets of business analyst work (documentation, training, requirements definition)
  • Belong on a smart, committed, fun-loving team
  • A track record of delivering on your commitments
  • Analytical, organized, detail-oriented and a good problem solver
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional in manner and appearance
  • Handle frequent changes well
  • Bilingual in French, an asset
