Overview

We are currently looking for a Project Manager in our Burlington, Ontario (CDN) office. This position reports directly to the Director, Delivery.

 

Responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to:

  • Deliver projects to completion, satisfying budget, resource and timeline commitments
  • Plan and manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Establish budget, resource and timeline requirements for projects
  • Identify and manage project risks, including development of contingency plans
  • Provide updates to internal and external Steering Committees and management teams
  • Develop strong relationships with clients and staff to create collaborative environments for success

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a cross-functional team through all stages of project delivery, leveraging either Waterfall or Agile methodologies, resulting in a high-quality deliverable to the client
  • Use excellent communication skills to develop strong, trusting relationships with clients and internal staff across all levels of the organization
  • Publish regular reports to various stakeholders reporting on project health, including financials, and risks
  • Establish and meet financial targets for your engagements
  • Actively seek the identification of project issues and problems, managing or escalating as appropriate
  • Provide troubleshooting and problem solving, as needed
  • Successfully engage with multiple projects simultaneously
  • Contribute to development of project KPIs, ongoing tuning of PMO processes, and a culture where quality is considered in our day-to-day activities

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Experienced project manager in a software application environment; multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with Agile project management methodology
  • Experience managing projects with external clients
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills; can influence change across various levels of the organization
  • Solid track record of delivering on your commitments
  • Analytical, organized, detail-oriented and a good problem solver
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional in manner and appearance
  • Ability to handle frequent change
  • Detailed business knowledge of individual insurance industry, ideally agent/commission/new business, an asset
  • Experience as a business analyst or software developer, an asset
  • Bilingual in French, an asset
