We are currently looking for a Linux Systems Administrator. 

Responsibilities

Description:  

 

The Linux Systems Administrator is responsible for provisioning, configuration, operation and maintenance of iPipeline infrastructure and systems. These include highly available systems delivering a high-performance SaaS application as well as parallel environments for development, QA and UAT. The individual participates in research and development of technologies that can be used to enhance operational effectiveness and improve overall availability and performance.  Create new, or make enhancements to current policies, procedures and standards.  Automate administrative functions such as patch management, backup and recovery processes.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Linux systems administration,
  • Fine tune configurations to get the best performance/resource consumption.
  • Analyze, install, configure, and maintain operating, network and other systems software and utilities, servers and other hardware and related applications systems.
  • Provision physical and virtual server (VMware)
  • Monitor systems to ensure maximum performance and suggest and perform system improvements as needed
  • Build and install open source software packages.
  • Establish and implement systems guidelines, procedures, and standards. Assure standards are consistent with corporate policies.
  • Ensure availability, performance and security of systems software including operating and network systems and utilities, servers and other hardware, related applications system.
  • Maintain data recoverability. Implement data backup and disaster recovery procedures

 

Qualifications

Technical Requirements:

 

  • Documented experience working with Linux based operating systems in a server and shell environment.
  • Experience working with Ubuntu distribution of Linux OS.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of VMWare.
  • Working knowledge of Splunk highly desired.
  • Experience with Ansible a plus.
  • Knowledge of current computer security practices and network protocols.

Education and Experience Required:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree –In Computer Sciences or related field desired.
  • Minimum 3 years related experience required.
