Overview

iPipeline, a leading insurance and financial services software development company, currently has an opening for a software developer to work in our Exton, Pennsylvania office. We are looking for candidates with an interest in working with life insurance and annuities applications in various disciplines. This includes Report Output development designed to demonstrate insurance to consumers, User Interface development, and development dealing with calculations associated with life insurance and annuities.

 

This position is designed to support a junior or senior-level developer and allows the candidate to grow into one or more of these disciplines over time in a diverse, fast-paced, rapidly growing organization. The candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be willing to have contact with customer staff associated with the disciplines described. A background in the life insurance industry is preferred but not required.  

Responsibilities

This is a development position that also provides the candidate with the opportunity to be integrally involved in all aspects of the life insurance and annuities marketplace.

  • Identify individual product components and features
  • Estimate development efforts
  • Communicate with internal and external customers
  • Develop report output, user interface designs, and calculation logic, according to customer specifications and/or service requests
  • Issue resolution
  • Build customer relations and provide customer support
  • Possible customer site visits to work on new products or projects

Qualifications

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Programming skills in one or more of the following: VBA, VB.NET, C++, C#, JavaScript, Crystal Reports, etc.
  • 0-3 years ideally of working experience in a software development role
  • Life insurance and/or annuities product knowledge desired
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and word processing software
  • Strong problem identification and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Good interpersonal and group dynamic skills
  • Ability to manage multiple different tasks simultaneously
  • Highly self-motivated with strong personal management and organization skills

Education:

  • College degree in Mathematics, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
